Austin's favorite quote...it has become my words to live by

Austin's favorite quote, which has become my mantra:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." — Mark Twain

Quotes and love

I'm still thinking a lot about love and how it's the greatest force in the universe.  And how I miss it in its physical presence...  I ran across these quotes and thought I'd share them with you.  They make me a little melancholy and sad, but mostly they make me smile as I remember sweet memories of Austin and I and how lucky I am to have known such  beautiful, tender, passionate and fierce love in my life.   If I never know another love, this love that we shared will be enough.   I hope these quotes bring some sweet memories to mind for you too....

“I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me.  Love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person.  Love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of.  Love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room

 and smile at you

“For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.”

-- Judy Garland

If you count all the stars in the sky, all the grains of sand in the oceans, all the roses in the world and all the smiles that have ever been, then you will have a sample of how much I love you.

I miss you when something really good happens, because you're the one I want to share it with. I miss you when something is troubling me, because you're the one who understands me so well. I miss you when I laugh and cry, because I know that you are the one that makes my laughter grow, and my tears disappear. I miss you all the time, but I miss you the most when I lay awake at night, and think of all the wonderful times that we spent with each other for those were some of the best and most memorable times of my life.

Thanks for sharing these Deb.

It makes me think about how simple love is. It is so simple and pure. It's the way they look at us. It's that knowing smile. It's that touch that says so much.

It's being there with them for that final goodbye.

I too, feel so blessed to have had that in my lifetime.

That was supposed to read "they SPEAK to me of my Rod and the richness of the love we shared." He would be amused by my little error, he always edited my writing before I submitted anything.
